Dr. Christelle Scharff, Pace University, New York, USA, has just spent 10 months in Senegal as a Fulbright Scholar. She taught more than 400 students and mobile developers (Java ME, Android, jQuery Mobile and mobile testing) since 2008.

18:20 – 18:45 – Mobile marketing and mobile economy by Abubakar Sadikh Ndiaye

This presentation will cover:

  • The fantastic story of mobile
  • M-commerce and business models
  • Strategies and techniques of m-marketing

Aboubacar Sadikh Ndiaye is a Social Media Strategist and Consultant in E-Business and Web 2.0. He is the author of the Lexicon 2.0.

18:45 – 19:10 – Case Study by Serigne Tall

This presentation will answer the following questions:

  • How do mobile technologies overlap in marketing?
  • What is our level of integration of m-Marketing by Senegalese firms?
  • How to monetize or profit from mobile application or actions of m-Marketing in Senegal? What arguments with the Senegalese market.

Serigne Tall is a consultant in e-marketing and e-management in the marketing department of By Filling. He designs and implements various marketing strategies incorporating mobile technologies.

Lessons learned in mHealth design with Stella Luk, Dimagi

Please join us at the next Mobile Monday Dakar event on mHealth at the WARC (West African Research Center). The event will be in English and French as Stella Luk speaks both languages.

Title:

Lessons learned in mHealth design

Abstract:

Stella will talk about some of the in’s and out’s of user-centred design and agile development of mHealth applications and systems in the community health context.

Bio:

Stella Luk is a computer scientist, international lawyer, road warrior, and jack of all trades. She has developed Internet Tools for IBM, provided project management and M&E support to an inter-governmental anti-corruption project in Ukraine, represented Horn of Africa refugees in their asylum claims to UNHCR, prosecuted drug crimes for the Government of Canada, and conducted surveys for the World Bank. Stella’s latest incarnation is as Senior Field Manager, West Africa, for Dimagi, Inc., a social enterprise that is a leader in the field of open source mobile technology. In this role, Stella works with partner organizations in West Africa to explore and expand how mobile technology can contribute to the good work they are doing in the world. Stella has a B.Sc. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Toronto, and a J.D., also from the University of Toronto.
