Graham Hughes, Senior Developer, eSAY Mobile, Manchester, UK

Graham has seven years’ experience of mobile application development at a senior technical level, working with industry leaders like Electronic Arts, Sony Ericsson and O2. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in computing, and has earned awards and recognition from Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Research in Motion, Nokia and the Scrum Alliance. Prior to his work in mobile, Graham designed client-server systems as a technical consultant, and lectured in object oriented software engineering for the UK’s largest university.

Teemu Kiijarvi, Developer Relations Manager for Nokia Middle East and Africa, South Africa

Mr. Kiijärvi is Developer Relations Manager for Nokia Middle East and Africa. Mr. Kiijarvi has been working in IT and mobile industry for past 15 years. Before joining Nokia he started African operations of a Finnish mobile software company. Mr. Kiijärvi is also the co-founder of Mobile Monday South Africa and active founding member of Mobile Monday global. During his four years in South Africa he has build extensive networks in African mobile ecosystem and feels passionate about helping the local ecosystem to grow.

Vidya Kulkarni, Associate Professor, University of Delhi, India

Vidya Kulkarni, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi,India. She has done her Masters in Mathematics from University of Delhi and Masters in Computer Science from McMaster University, Canada. Areas of her research include Query Optimization in Databases, Global Software Engineering, Software Testing, and Image Processing. She has coauthored two books on computer science based on the school curriculum in India.

Dario Laverde, Leader of New York City Java User Group and Leader of the New York City GTUG, New York, USA

Dario Laverde is an author/editor, lecturer (speaker at JavaOne 7 times), has spoken and written about Java and robotics, wireless, embedded and enterprise solutions. He is the leader of the NYCJava.net Study Groups JUG. He also organizes the popular NYC Java Meetup and the NYC- GTUG. He has been programming in Java since alpha 1.0. Dario is SCJP and SCEA certified. He cowrote and edited “Programming Lego Mindstorms with Java” and is currently consulting, training and developing Java based applications focusing on Android. He is currently teaching an Android course at Pace University. He co-founded the Skylight1 Android open source project.

Dr. Qusay Mahmoud, University of Guelph, Canada – author of the book “Wireless Java” published by O’Reilly

Qusay H. Mahmoud is the Founder & Director of the Centre for Mobile Education Research (http://cmer.cis.uoguelph.ca) at the University of Guelph. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Middlesex University (UK), and an M.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.Sc. in Data Analysis, both from the University of New Brunswick in Canada. Qusay is the author of two books: Distributed Programming with Java (Manning Publications, 1999) and Learning Wireless Java (O’Reilly, 2002), and editor of two books: Middleware for Communications (Wiley, 2004) and Cognitive Networks (Wiley, 2007). He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and Associate Editor of the ACM Transactions on Internet Technology.

Alon Mei-raz, Team Leader at Oracle, Specialist of LWUIT, Israel

Alon has over seven years experience in mobile development and consulting, mostly in JavaME. Alon joined Oracle from Sun Microsystems, where he was involved in various mobile products and tools. He has a vast experience in working with leading operators and handset vendors around the world. Alon holds a B.Sc degree in computer science, and currently working on his thesis in information systems as part of his MBA. Additionally, he has experience in lecturing at technical conferences and at customers meetings.

Babacar Ngom, Engineer, University Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal

Babacar Ngom is passionate about video games and technology. He obtained a bachelor in Computer Science with a minor in Physics and Chemistry, and a master in Computer Science at the Cheikh Anta Diop Unviersity in Dakar. He joined the Computing Center at UCAD as an engineer in 2008 and specialized in supporting distance learning and instruction in the CISCO Regional Academy program hosted in the Center. In 2006-2007 he was involved in the Acacia project whose mission was the establishment of a geographic information system on mobile phones for the management of pastoral resources in Thiel and Koutchiaba

Abdoulaye Samba Macina, Manobi, Dakar, Senegal

Abdoulaye Samba Macima received a Bachelor degree from the Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech in Morocco. He graduated from the Gaston Berger University in Saint Louis where he obtained a Master degree. He has been working in the industry since then. Since 2010 he has been responsible of the business unit at Manobi, a company specialized in mobile applications in Senegal and the Sub-region .

Kieran Sharpey-Schafer, Project Coordinator, UNICEF, New York, USA

Kieran Sharpey-Schafer just joined the UNICEF Innovation Unit in NYC (http://unicefinnovation.org) as a project coordinator working on m-health projects in Malawi. Previously he worked at Cell-Life (http://www.cell-life.org), a South African NGO working on improving the lives of people infected and affected by HIV in South Africa through the use of mobile technology. He is also a programming member of the Java Rosa project http://code.javarosa.org.
