Recognizing the catalytic nature of mobile technologies in promoting human development, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Motorola Solutions launched the International Network of Social Innovators for Human Development (INSIHD) in 2013.
Several workshops were held, after which local chapters were established in Kenya, Tunisia and Rwanda.
The workshop that took place on 19-20 June 2014 was an opportunity to debate and discuss the current situation of mobile application development and the role and place of social innovators in Senegal: ongoing plans and policies, problems social innovators and actors in the mobile ecosystem encountered, challenge ahead…
The Senegal chapter will be established very soon. We will first identify actors and projects in the field of social innovation for human development. MobileSenegal is using the M-Ecosystem crowdsourcing platform to identify actors, mobile solutions, and projects in Senegal and we invite all relevant stakeholders to participate and submit reports on the platform’s website.
