Abstract:
Stella will talk about some of the in’s and out’s of user-centred design and agile development of mHealth applications and systems in the community health context.
Bio:
Stella Luk is a computer scientist, international lawyer, road warrior, and jack of all trades. She has developed Internet Tools for IBM, provided project management and M&E support to an inter-governmental anti-corruption project in Ukraine, represented Horn of Africa refugees in their asylum claims to UNHCR, prosecuted drug crimes for the Government of Canada, and conducted surveys for the World Bank. Stella’s latest incarnation is as Senior Field Manager, West Africa, for Dimagi, Inc., a social enterprise that is a leader in the field of open source mobile technology. In this role, Stella works with partner organizations in West Africa to explore and expand how mobile technology can contribute to the good work they are doing in the world. Stella has a B.Sc. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Toronto, and a J.D., also from the University of Toronto.
